The other type is called the portable shampoo bowl which is commonly used in beauty parlors and saloons. It is usually made of hard plastic which is molded to follow the contour of the neck. It also has a built-in stand so it can be easily positioned behind the recliner seat. At the lowest portion of the bowl is a drain hose which you can extend downward going to a plastic container (plastic container usually not included when you buy the unit). The included stand’s height is fully adjustable to fit different recliner seat size and doesn’t need any tools to do it. Some brands feature a wheel on the stand so it can be easily moved from one place to another. There’s also a much simple version of this, it’s called the hair washing tray. This actually not considered as a sink because it doesn’t hold the rinsing water but divert it the real sink instead. Just like the portable shampoo bowl it is made of plastic and is placed behind the head and channels the rinse water directly to the sink and it doesn’t have a drain hose. This is ideal for home use and a lot cheaper than portable bowl.
